Is a Torquay local and we are proud to say began her ceramic practice with us at StudioMade – in our home studio, back ‘in the day’. Falling in love with the clay medium, Claire has gone on to pursue her own artistic practice at home, setting up a studio – purchasing a kiln – and has committed herself to developing her hand building skills. Now a successful standalone ceramic artist Claire stocks her wares locally around town and pops up at markets now and then. Claire also loves engaging with people, and ‘ aims to make something delightful and unique that people can enjoy using every day’.
Having studied in Portland USA, Curtin Uni W.A and locally at the Gordon TAFE – Anni has worked for 35 years in graphic design – her other forays into art include painting, drawing and leather – landscape design and horticulture . More recently Anni has become passionate about developing her skills on the pottery wheel and delving into the science of glazing – incorporating locally sourced organic elements from her home ground on the beautiful surf coast into her glazes and clay bodies. As Anni continues to pursue her own ceramic practice from her studio in Jan Juc, she is also sharing her growing repertoire of skills and science with us at StudioMade.
