Hand-building Tasters – build your own group

We’re doing this one differently.

Perhaps “Ghost” has ghosted hand building with clay. As a studio we are having difficulty filling  hand building classes and rather than not have the option available at all we are asking you  to ‘raise a group’-with a minimum of 4.  You pick the date and time – and we’ll see if we can work with you on that.

You’ll be joining us at the table for some Hand building.

**we do encourage you to consider joining our Hand building classes – hand building is so under rated and appears to be  seen as the ‘poor cousin’ to the wheel.  Hand building can offer way more instant gratification if you are outcome driven.  The wheel is a bit of a slow burn/learn for some and can be frustrating….just saying!!

In these 2 hour workshops you will get your hands in clay to create the project of the day.

Introducing you to a variety of handbuilding techniques, our tutor Kim @llostandco will take you through your creative paces to create some eclectic designs.

The cost of this course ‘experience’ includes clay, all materials and tools.

If you wish to take your experience home – refer below for glazing and firing – optional extra.

Glazing and Firing

  •  Eternity or Eco options

The Eternity option – additional $15/20

Decide at the end of your class: to keep or not to keep.

For an additional $15/20 you can choose 1 or 2 of your selected pieces for  StudioMade’s professional team to fire & glaze using our own house batch  stoneware white.

Your pieces will survive *eternity – and be ready for you to return and collect in 3 or 4 weeks ( storage capacity is such that we can only hold for 6 weeks max – so into eternity they will not go whole).

Payment is due at the end of class.

The Eco Option – Free

We are just as pleased for you to choose the ‘eco’ option –  simply to have enjoyed your experience. Your pieces will stay with you in your minds eye and we will recycle then upcycle your used clay back into the clay buckets to be processed via our in-studio pugmill – for more clay experiences to be had by others ahead.

Taster Class Options

Little/Big Kids & clay play day, Sit down Social – 2 hours of hand building at the table with Kim., The Tasting Plate – up to 3 hours incorporating catering and clay for your group.
